Heartworm season is now upon us

We would like to make you aware of this potentially deadly disease and discuss the risks it poses for your dogs.  The tiny immature heartworms are transmitted through the bite of a mosquito. 

Although mosquitoes are not a huge problem in the Eldorado area, we do see them. If  you travel or hike with your dog, the risk of infection is increased. 

Prevention is safe and easy. 

We require a heartworm test every other year.  If you have not been in yet this season for your heartworm test or preventative, please call or e-mail the clinic.
